Being experience and well-read individuals we know that having an abundance thinking is important to have a feel-good factor. But is that all that an abundance thinking does? Before we understand what abundance thinking does, it is important to understand the two categories of people. Category A who are abundance thinkers and Category S who are scarcity thinkers
Abundance mindset is the belief that there is plenty of everything in the world for everyone. It is such a simple concept and still exceedingly difficult to follow.
Scarcity, the opposite of abundance is readily available to everyone. Someone with a scarcity thinking sees what is lacking.
In your career or business you would have come across many individuals who can be identified
with any of these statements like “I don’t have enough time”, “I don’t get enough love”, “Not enough
money”, “I do not have great relationship”, “I did not get enough opportunity”, “I don’t have a great
boss”, “I don’t have fantastic team members,” and so on.
Contrary to this you may be able to count on your fingers, the number of people who have
abundance thinking. Those who think “I have more than enough money”, “I always get great
opportunities”, “I have lots of love in my life”, “I have fantastic relationship at home and outside” and
so on.
Interestingly, you will find the people in Category S have scarcity, emptiness and dissatisfaction
in most of the aspects, anticipating the inevitable “failure” that is yet to come, whereas people in Category A have abundance in almost the aspects of their life.
What does Abundance mean for a leader?
A leader who understand the abundance mindset, leads themself and their team with fulfillment
and confidence of what they have. They believe in the power of creating whatever they want as
they see opportunity in everything.
An abundant thinking leader encourages the team to innovate and be creative as they believe
there is potential in every individual. They do not look at lack in people, resource, time, and
money but look at opportunity. Abundance thinking leader is forever learning as they believe
that more and different opportunities come to them and they must be ready.
Abundance and Scarcity in a leader’s experience have nothing to do with circumstance, or what
anybody else is doing or not doing — each is simply a mindset, simply their perspective. If
leaders want to shift their outcome to more success, more money, better relationships, more opportunities, they must start telling a different story.
that more and different opportunities come to them and they must be ready.
To build an abundance thinking, a leader should become aware of their own current thinking. Below is an unconventional awareness checklist for anyone who aspires to be a Great Leader
- If someone is living well, accumulated land, wealth and all life’s good things, A leader will appreciate, recognize, and get inspired. A scarcity focused person will criticize and find faults, misses, and have negative emotions. Which One Are You?
- If someone gets a lot of things done and time is not a concern, A leader will emulate and learn. A scarcity focused person will focus on action to accomplish things and become judgmental. Which One Are You?
- If someone gets many successful opportunities, A leader will follow and believe there is enough and more where it is coming from. A scarcity thinking person will envy, critically examine all steps, and wait for a mistake to happen. Which One Are You?
